11 Days. One
Oxford Experience.
A Journey beyond Cricket.
Oxford Cricket Odyssey is an 11-day residential programme designed to take young cricketers beyond the familiar. Across cricket, competition, learning, culture and reflection, students experience Oxford while developing the skills, judgement and perspective that come from being challenged in a new environment.
THE PROGRAMME JOURNEY
11 Days, Design
With Purpose
Every part of the journey has a role to play.
Students move between the cricket field, Oxford’s academic and cultural spaces, and moments of guided reflection allowing what they experience in one setting to influence how they approach the next.
Play. Explore. Question. Reflect. Grow.

Before Oxford
Arrive ready for more than a tour.
The experience begins before students reach Oxford. Preparation helps them understand the journey ahead, set expectations and think about what they want to take from the experience. Prepare. Arrive curious.

Days 1-2 | Arrive & Discover
Step into a new environment.
Students settle into Oxford, meet their cohort and begin discovering the city that will become their home for the next 11 days.
The first few days are about orientation, connection and opening up to a place that may be very different from what they know.
A new place gives you new things to notice.

Days 3-5 | Train & Develop
Take your game into a new environment.
Cricket becomes the centre of the experience. Students train with experienced coaches, work on their game and begin applying their skills alongside new teammates. But development isn’t only technical. They begin to experience what happens when they have to communicate, adapt and make decisions outside their usual environment.

Days 6-8 | Compete & Challenge
When the game gets real, so does the learning.
Match play creates situations that training cannot always recreate.
A decision under pressure.
A mistake that changes the game.
A teammate who sees things differently.
A result that doesn’t go your way.
Students learn to respond, adapt and keep going. The challenge is part of the programme.

Days 9-10 | Explore & Reflect
Step away from the field. See the bigger picture.
Through tutorials, workshops, conversations and cultural experiences, students explore ideas beyond cricket. They revisit the experiences they’ve had and begin to ask:
What happened? Why did I respond that way? What would I do differently next time? This is where experience starts becoming understanding.

Days 11 | Take it with you
The programme ends. The experience doesn’t.
The final day brings the journey together.
Students reflect on what they have experienced, the challenges they faced, the people they met and the ways they changed along the way.
They leave Oxford with more than memories of a cricket tour. They leave with experiences they can carry into their next challenge.
